Spring Ayurvedic Cleanse

12 September, 2025 to 21 September, 2025

Why Cleanse in Spring?

In Ayurveda, the transition from winter to spring is considered one of the most optimal times for cleansing. As the body shifts from the heavy, slow qualities of winter to the lighter energy of spring, we have a unique opportunity to restore balance and vitality.  It’s the perfect time to support your own renewal with our Seasonal Spring Ayurvedic Cleanse—a gentle, nourishing way to awaken your energy, clear away stagnation, and align with the vibrant season ahead.

Without support, seasonal imbalances may appear as:

  • Sluggish digestion, bloating, or heaviness

  • Low energy, brain fog, or lethargy

  • Congestion, allergies, or lingering colds

  • Moodiness, irritability, or feeling stuck

This cleanse isn’t about restriction—it’s about nourishment, clarity, and vitality. With warm, light meals and simple daily rituals, you’ll gently support your body’s natural ability to detoxify and rejuvenate.

What you’ll gain:

Improved digestion & metabolism

Boosted energy & clarity of mind

A deep sense of renewal—physically and emotionally

Practical Ayurvedic habits to carry into daily life

The cleansing process:

Phase 1

Days 1 - 2: The pre-cleanse "window

You'll eat three balanced, daily meals, mostly whole grains, beans, lentils, and seasonal fruits and veggies. Aim to avoid snacks between meals, caffeine, alcohol, dairy, sugar, meat, nuts and processed food.  For best results, you could start eating like this one week before the cleanse.

Phase 2

Days 3 - 7: The kichari cleanse

You'll eat a mono-diet of nourishing, healing kichari, an Ayurvedic superfood that will provide the perfect nutrient-dense meals to rest your digestive system and gently cleanse you from the inside out.  Recipes will be provided so you can create your own simple healing food.   The cleansing phase may be shortened to three or four days if you don't have the time or energy for a five-day cleanse.

Phase 3

Day 8: The day of rest

Reserve this day to rest where possible after the main cleanse, and start transitioning to the post-cleanse meals. A great opportunity to book in some restful activities like a restorative yoga class, massage or warm bath. Leave space for yourself to ease back into a varied diet.

Phase 4:

Days 9 - 10: The post cleanse

You'll follow an eating regimen similar to the pre-cleanse, with a few additional recipes designed to rejuvenate and replenish your body.

FAQ's

I've never experienced Ayurveda before - is this for me?

Yes! You don't need to have any knowledge of Ayurveda, as all the support material will be provided for you.  In fact, it's a very practical way to learn about Ayurveda, and you'll probably discover some daily rituals that you can continue with after the cleanse is over.  If you want to learn more about Ayurveda before or after the cleanse, you're welcome to book an Ayurvedic Wellness Consultation with Nicole.

I've never done a cleanse or a detox before - it that ok?

Yes! Ayurvedic cleansing is very gentle.  You're not depriving yourself of food, so it's very different from a fast or detox, where you drastically restrict food or only consume water or juices.  You will feel nourished rather than hungry.  You'll be tuning into the signs and signals from your digestive system, so that you start to listen better to the natural cues from your body.  It's about eating mindfully and following a specific eating routine over the ten days that will help you make better food choices for the long term.

Will I lose weight?

Weight loss is very nuanced and comes down to a variety of factors: diet, exercise, sleep, stress and hormones.  Everyone's starting point is different, and it wouldn't be ethical for us to guarantee that you will lose weight on this cleanse.  You'll be removing some food items that contribute to weight gain (like processed food containing excess sugar, fat, and salt), and crowding these out with nutrient-dense food. We're going to suggest that you eliminate between-meal snacks, which is where a lot of extra kilojoules sneak into your diet.  This may not move the number on the scale, but adding more nutrient density to your meals will ensure you feel fuller for longer and may curb cravings.  Recent research shows that including more plants in your diet is preventative against chronic diseases like cardiovascular disease, stroke, hypertension and diabetes.

Do I need to give up certain foods during the cleanse?

It's ideal to temporarily stop eating some types of food, especially food that isn't supportive of optimal digestion.  You might like to consider taking a "dietary holiday" from things like caffeine, meat, wheat and dairy.  It would be highly beneficial not to have alcohol, added sugar or processed foods.  But everyone is different, and it's up to you what you choose to leave out of your diet during the cleanse.

What will I actually be eating? Is it all just salad?

Vegetables! Lots of vegetables! You'll eat a variety of different vegetables, whole grains, legumes, and a little fruit. You'll be introduced to some delicious herbs and spices that boost your digestion and ensure you get all the goodness out of your food.  And you may be surprised to learn that there will be minimal salad.  In fact, warm, well-cooked meals are the cornerstone of this cleanse, because warm and well-cooked food enhances your digestion, whereas too much cold salad at the wrong time of day and in the wrong season can hamper your digestion.

I'm not a good cook - can I still do it?

Thanks for being honest! If you can read and follow a recipe, you should be able to manage it.  You might learn some new culinary skills to take forward with you beyond the cleanse.  Most of the recipes we'll be sharing are meals you can create anytime you want to eat something really healthy and nourishing.  Be prepared to level up your kitchen prowess!

What if I can't make it through the whole 10 days?

No worries at all.  If 10 days feels unachievable, you might prefer to start with a shorter time.  You could shorten Phase 2 to two, three or four days.  It's important to ease yourself in and out of the cleanse, and Phases 1, 3 and 4 are dedicated to this.  Pick a time frame that feels good for you and fits into your life.

What if I can't do the cleanse on the dates suggested?

No problem at all - you can adjust the dates to suit your personal situation.  Choose your preferred start date and follow along with all the resources provided - recipes, tips, recorded live sessions and daily emails.

Will the live sessions be recorded?

Yes! All live Zoom sessions with Nicole will be recorded and uploaded to our dedicated course portal. If you purchase the cleanse, you'll have access to this information for 6 months.
