Pregnancy can be a joyful time - full of anticipation about the impending arrival of your baby, full of profound changes to your body and not to mention lifestyle.
It can also be a time of high emotion, with the demands of balancing a career with an expanding family. Taking time to nourish and restore your energy during pregnancy is essential for your own wellbeing, as well as the foundation of creating that special bond between you and your baby.
This two day and two night retreat will give you much-needed time out for YOU, in a beautiful natural setting where the ocean meets pristine bushland.
Our specially curated program of yoga, meditation and breath work will both relax and rejuvenate your entire being, as well as help to prepare you physically, mentally and emotionally for birth and beyond.
Retreat with us in our gorgeous Killcare beach house (1.5 hours drive north of Sydney) with sweeping panoramic ocean views, surrounded by national parks and an abundance of nature. Be nourished by daily pregnancy yoga and meditation, gentle bush walks, beach swims, and healthy, seasonal organic vegetarian meals prepared with love to best support you through your pregnancy.
The Daily Flow:
Daily yoga and meditation practice - Our morning prenatal yoga practices will awaken your body through rhythmic movement and alchemical blend of yoga asana modified for pregnancy, with meditation and breath work designed to both relax your nervous system and give you some essential skills for labour. Afternoon practices will include soothing yin yoga and meditation, with a soundtrack of ocean waves and local kookaburras. Sunset meditations set the tone for balmy evenings of joyful sharing, or self-reflection.
Nurture time - Deepen your connection to the earth by living in nature’s daily rhythms: gentle walks in the adjoining national parks, refreshing dips in the ocean, and time to enjoy sunshine and sea air. There will be free time to wander, gaze out to the horizon, or curl up with a book from our extensive library.
Nourishment - More than just nutrition, true nourishment comes from sharing meals with a sense of gratitude and connection to the abundance provided by the earth. Daily whole food breakfasts, lunches and dinners will be prepared from fresh, seasonal, primarily organic produce, and are vegetarian and gluten-free. Dietary requirements can be catered for if we’re notified in advance. Special consideration is given to provide meals that are nutrient-dense, with essential ingredients for pregnancy health and the necessary building blocks for your baby's development.
Location of the retreat is Killcare, only 90 minutes drive away from the city. If you don't have transport, please let us know and we'll aim to organise a car-pool with a fellow retreater. Alternatively you may take a train to Woy Woy station on the Central Coast, and we'll collect you from there.
Arrival time on Friday is from 2pm; departure time on Sunday from 2pm
You'll be guests in our lush beach home, which we've lovingly set up for our guests to enjoy both simplicity and comfort, allowing you to relax fully and get the most out of your time with us. You have the choice between two styles of room - our standard bedrooms (can be shared with a friend), or cute and cosy single sleeping alcoves that are smaller in size but high on comfort. All bedrooms feature crisp linen, with cosy doonas and throws, and our standard rooms have both ceiling fans and reverse cycle air conditioning. All rooms have shared bathrooms. The house has plenty of chill-out space for you to unwind, while taking the scenic views of bush and beach, enjoying deliciously healthy meals and great company.
Our yoga room is fully equipped with mats, blocks, straps, bolsters, meditation cushions and blankets, no need to bring anything unless you prefer your own mat.
